Ranma Saotome, a strong boy who had been to hell china and back, fought off several adversaries, and accidentally obtained a good 5 or 6 fiancees, was beat. He groaned, walking into the large auditorium of Bushidou academy. In all truth, the auditorium was set up much like a stadium would be, though halfway as large as one. He furrowed his brows, wondering what kind of matches would go on here; after all, it was way too weird looking NOT to be an arena. Plopping down on one of the chairs, Ranma watched as the stage setup slowly wrapped up. He'd sat near the back, so that hopefully no one would notice him, and he could enjoy his first day at his new school in peace. Yeah, right. He rolled his eyes, staying silent and unmoving. He wasn't really all that lucky, and he knew that at some point or another, one of them would pop up. Practically every fighter in Nerima'd been invited to this place. This is way weird.Scowling, the boy sat back once more, crossing his arms and kicking his feet up onto the chair infront of him. "Peh!"
The academy was huge, according to Shinnosuke, though the boy hadn't seen the world outside of Ryugenzawa all that much anyway. To think the auditorium was like this was quite unbelievable in his eyes. Plus, he had never seen so many people in one gathering in his life....why did he some to this academy anyway? He shrugged and then took his seat to a certain pigtailed boy he had never seen in his life. At least to his records.
[OOC: Gonna reply to both in reply to Akane's post. Goin' on down~]
Akane looked up at the top of the doorway to the auditorium, reading the sign above it: Bushidou Academy Auditorium. A flimsy-looking sheet of paper hung loosely underneath, displaying confirmation that the room was to be used for orientation. Confidently, she took in a sharp breath and pushed her way through the doors. Her eyes widened, seeing just how large the inside of the area was. Without the chairs and other miscellaneous objects filling the room, it would be much bigger than what she currently saw. She figured this was the room they would be using for training, demonstrations, small tests or other such related events. As the shock began to wear off, she drifted off towards the rows of chairs, scanning for a place to sit and spotting Ranma in the process."Stupid jerk," she muttered, crossing her arms as she turned her head the other way. Considering the fight the two had had before their fathers pushed them out the door, there was no way she was going to sit near him. Moving up two rows, she took a seat directly in front of the boy, keeping her arms crossed tightly over her chest.
Ranma paused, looking over to Shinnosuke. It took him a good five minutes to realize exactly who the boy was, and when he did, he sprung up and pointed an accusing finger at him. "YOU! Geezus, everyone's here! I can't believe this--" he paused, turning to look to Akane, before grimacing. Was she still sour about the fight?! Peh, girls held grudges for too long! He crossed his arms, sitting down and scowling, kicking his feet back up so that they blocked his view of the back of Akane's head. Huffing, he looked to Shinnosuke. "What room're you in?"Hey, the guy may have not been the most normal of people, but he was a LOT more normal than half the kids that Ranma knew.
Shinnosuke blinked, but pulled out his paper and read, "Um, it seems I am in room 109B. How about you...uh?"His eyes slightly widened and he bowed to Ranma, "Oh, please forgive me! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Shinnosuke! It is a pleasure to meet you"He then sat up and asked, "And you are?"
Ranma stared at the boy, raising a brow, "Ranma! Docha remember me? I'm--.." he sighed, remembering Shinnosuke's little "disorder," then rolling his eyes. "Ranma Saotome; first year here, and I'm in room 107B.. so I guess we're not roomates." Damn. Who could his roomate be?! He put on a grin, despite this. "You think you're gonna have fun here?" Had to make small talk for now.. the ceremonies weren't gonna get underway for a while now.
"I guess not." Shinnosuke furrowed his eyebrows, trying to think with his rain gutter brain of his. Ranma...Ranma...Ranma...The name sounded familiar from somewhere...maybe...or maybe not. Oh well, at least he knows someone now."I don't know really what to think of it. I got this letter to this place and I don't really remember signing up for any academy in the first place..." Shinnosuke explained, "I was planning on not coming, but my grandfather made me go for some reason anyway."
[OOC: Responding After Akane's post! :D]
Listening to the conversation taking place between the two behind her, she huffed whilst crossing her legs. The jerk doesn't even care?! she wondered, thinking that he could have at least apologized for the things he said. Really, after hearing the same insults over and over, Akane found herself feeling hurt more and more frustrated. Well, if that idiot isn't going to care, I'm not going to care, either! Unfortunately for her, there weren't many people in the room quite yet, which made it impossible for her to actually show Ranma that she didn't care about him. Instead, she lightly pressed her lips together, humming near inaudibly to herself.
Ranma was clearly avoiding Akane, and on top of that, making it look like her presence meant jack squat to him. If she wanted to play the game, he'd play, and he wasn't one for losing."Yeah, I didn't wanna go either, but my old man's a teacher and a giant panda so he made me go. I have a feeling that all the crazies I know followed me here though.." He sunk in his chair, grimacing.
"To tell you the truth, this is the first time I'm going to an actual education facility. Even though it's just basically about martial arts and fighting, but still," Shinnosuke explained, "I kind of feel out of place. I've never really traveled to other place other than around my home Ryugenzawa. I guess I just need to get use to it."He soon noticed the girl in front of Ranma and narrowed his eyes. That back of the head look very familiar to him. Very familiar. Definitly familiar and not 'maybe familiar'. Was he actualling remembering something?! DUN! DUN! DUN!"Excuse me," he said politely as he leaned in and gently tapped Akane's shoulder.
Though the song she was humming seemed cheerful enough, inside Akane was seething over the fact that Ranma was being his typical jerky self. Her train of thought was interrupted, however, when she felt a light tapping on her shoulder. She grinned, thinking that she was actually going to see Ranma behind her, ready to apologize. Of course, she wouldn't accept it; she was going to give him the beatinglecture of a lifetime! She whipped her head around, uncrossing her arms as she stood up. "Just wh--.." Akane paused, staring blankly at the boy in front of her. So it wasn't Ranma after all. Not that she cared, of course. There were other ways of getting back at Ranma. Realizing who was standing in front of her, she smiled brightly, though not overboard with excitement. Is this who I think it is? To be fair, it had been awhile since they last spoke, or saw each other."Yes?" Politely asking, lest she surprise him with sudden hyperactivity.
He was right! That back of the head was familiar. And her face! Her face! He definitly could make out that face! However, the only way to confirm the truth was to ask her one question."Are you...are you Aka--Akane, by any chance?" he asked, hopingly. If he was right, will hell freeze over? Will pigs come out and fly?
Her smile picked up as she heard her name, confirming that she knew who the person before her was. What she still didn't know, however, was just how to react to him as she knew they were both a bit sensitive to past events. Was he here to go to school? ".. Shinnosuke?" She asked, smile still wide on her face. Whatever the reason, she knew she had at least one friend while she was here; or at least, that's what she had hoped.
[I'm continuin' after Shampoo's post down thataway, see ya guys!]
He nodded eagerly, with a smile on his face. That confirmed it. He remembered her. She remembered him. Now one more question was left. Did hell freeze over yet? Where were those flying pigs?"Yes. I'm so glad you remembered," he said to her, "I didn't know you got invited to come here as well."
"Yeah, as a matter of fact..." She hesitated, as her eyes caught a glimpse of Ranma completely all over Shampoo, flirting with her like the apocalypse were coming tomorrow. Heat built up inside her, slowly, feeling as if she were about to explode at any given minute. Though, she was much stronger than to let something like that purple-haired bimbo get to her! If that's the game that moron wants to play, then that's fine with me! "As a matter of fact," she continued, "I didn't even apply to this place, and I received a letter of acceptance." Explaining, she took a step towards the boy, bringing them closer. "I'm really happy to see that you're here, too! Maybe we can sp-- .." Now, she had to think. Knowing about the wounds on his body, there was no way the two could spar as she would likely kill him. Struggling, her mind searched for an activity to come up with."..Maybe we can go for a walk sometime, and get to know the area better!" she suggested, eyes meandering over towards Ranma before darting back to the boy. Akane grinned.
"I would love too," Shinnosuke nodded, smiling at her, "It sounds like a good idea, Akane. Shall we go after all this is over then"It was truly quite a while, since he lastsaw her and he missed her face, her smile. Everything about her. And he was glad to know at least there someone here he knew (and remembered)."Is something wrong?" he asked, with concerned eyes and furrow eyebrows, "You seem red. Are you sick?"
She waved her hand loosely in front of her, letting him know there was nothing to worry about. "It's just a bit warm in here, with all the people, that's all!" She answered, unwilling to let him know that she was mad at the idiot across the room. Before she could say what she'd wanted, the ceremonies commenced. "Going after the ceremonies is a great idea!" she agreed, lightly linking her arm with his and directing the two to some empty seats.
"That's good," he said. Then Shinnosuke lightly blushed when she linked his arms with his. He just hoped Akane didn't notice it. Will he get his chance, he wondered, a chance to tell of his true feelings for her. (Yes, he forgot about that.)He sighed. He'd think about that for another time. It made him happy enough that he was near her.He soon turned his face away from Akane and toward the scene in front of him, toward the starting of the ceremony. What would await them...?
[OoC and too lazy to log-into my Akane-ified account. >D;; ..Is our little thread for the opening ceremonies finished? o.o; ::not sure what else to do:: x.x;; ]
[Well, someone could make a thread post-ceremonies or something ^^;;]
the glint of metal reflected through the auditorium, as Ukyou entered from another side, hardly even seeing Ranma, Akane, and Shinnosuke in the endless swarm of people. She sighed at the lack of unfamiliar faces, before moving to sit down near the side, in the very middle row. She looked down to the arena/stage, her eyes raising. Wow. This school was way different from Furinkan.
Nodoka gave up searching the ever swelling sea of faces for that of her son. Or for that matter her husband, who's seat sat empty next to her in the small section roped off for staff. She never had gotten around to telling the men in her life about her decision to come to the academy. She assumed Genma had discovered the fact when he got his apartment information, but that was not the safest of assumptions considering her husbands tendency to skip over the fine details of any given document.Anxious, but hiding it well, Nodoka waited for the orientation presentation to begin.
Konatsu panicked. Through the swarm of students, he had lost contact with his boss. What was he going to do!? He was being bumped from one person to another like a ball in a pinball machine."Ukyo-sama!" he cried out desperately, "Ukyo-sama! Ukyo-sama!""AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He screeched when he felt a hand grope his bottom. He pulled out his kunai knife, looking back and forth at who the perpetrator was, but no one was there.
Feminine, desperate cries drew Nodoka's attention. She spotted what appeared to be a pretty young woman calling out for someone named, 'Ukyo-sama.' Recognizing the name of one of Ranma's fiancees, Nodoka stood to see if she could help the distraught girl when she spotted a large, ugly male reach out through the crowd and... how DARE he?!As the poor girl whirled the male lost himself in the crowd to her- but not to Nodoka. With all of the authority and sterness of 16 years of motherhood (regardless of the fact that 10 of those years were spent seperated from her son), she reached out and snatched the boys ear. It was one thing to be manly, but you had to be ready to pay the price. As the young man turned to her incredulously, Nodoka called out to the girl he had offended.
"Yes," he shyly squeaked. In all out truthness, Konatsu nodded. Yes he was offended would do such a thing! His face went red from embarassment.
Nodoka blinked at the girl, confused. All of the young ladies Ranma hung around with would have beaten the boy to a pulp if presented the opportunity. If the girl was not going to punish the boy herself then it would be up to Nodoka to see it done, as an authority figure in the school. Unfortunately Nodoka was new to all this and not entirely sure what the appropriate course of action would be. She looked around nervously, fingers still pinching the lads earlobe while he squirmed, hoping for some sign of what to do...
He made it! Okay.. so it had taken him 3 days and he was a little late, but that didn't matter! The only thing that matter is that he was in the right place when he needed to be. This might have been a first! And no thanks to that good for nothing map.. that was the last time he'd trust a map drawn in crayon by a 5-year old! (And they say men never ask for directions!)But this was no time to celebrate.. he had spotted Akane Tendo in the crowd and it was best that he had just found his roommate and left before she tried to talk to him or something. He'd just embarass himself in front of her! She'd laugh at him for being such a nervous, bumbling idiot and that's the last thing he wanted..Tossing the useless map aside, he pulled his dorm number from his pocket. "107B.." Ryoga said to confirm what was on the sheet. Who could he be sharing a room with?
Ukyou sighed, growing bored in her seat, before looking around and spotting the golden yellow fabric that Ryouga always wore. Quirking a brow, she waved, grinning, "Hey, Sugar!" she said, adressing him as she did nearly every person she was familiar with. Except Ranma. Ranma was Ranma-honey, or Ran-chan. "Come on over! You've got to wait for orientation to begin!" She smiled, looking forward, It looked like, soon, the ceremonies would start. She really hoped so; she wasn't sure of class schedules for the day and was hoping they'd be addressed.
When he heard the voice calling, he look from side to side. Was she talking to him? Well, she must have been since no one else was around.Doing as he was told, he walked over and took a seat next to Ukyou. There was no harm in sticking around, he thought. Especially if that was what he was SUPPOSED to do.Though he would have rather gotten a head start in looking for his room.
As the ceremonies closed, Ukyou stood up and sighed. She hadn't seen Ranma ANYWHERE around here. She really hoped he had actually decided to attend the school, but she tries not to let that bother her. "Alright, Sugar!" She said, stretching lightly before picking up her spatula. "You wanna go look for your dorm? I'm in no hurry to find mine," She didn't want to outright say, 'You're gonna get lost, so I want to help you,' so she tried to soften it up as much as she could.
His face brightened from the blank look he had had from listening to the principal speak. He stood up and tried not to seem too desperate."Oh! Yes, please..!" ..but that plan failed. Ryouga bowed respectfully to show his appreciation. Taking one more look in Akane's direction, he sighed and made his way out of the aisle.[Sorry for the crappy post. They'll get better once I know more about Ryouga speak patterns and stuff XD;]
Ukyou followed along behind Ryouga, before catching up beside him to make sure thethey both didn't lose sight of eachother. "Okay.. the boys' dorms are off this way," Ukyou said, tugging at Ryouga's sleeve and leading him off towards the dorms.
[OOC: Gonna continue in the next post.. the 107b one. :O]
Shampoo shook her head as she twisted her long hair into the usual style. She had arrived to the orientation early on but still did not know of her roommate. As a matter of fact, she didn't know anything of school at this point. She frowned and readjusted the picture of Ranma she had in her arms. Waiting for the session to start, she began following the quiet mumblings of the other students, an all-too familiar voice sticking out of the hundreds of others."What going on here? Whose voice is that?" She wondered. Inadvertently, she bumped into somebody sitting in a chair beneath her. "Oh, I sor-" Her eyes lit up. "Ranma! You come to room with Shampoo, yes?" Sure, it wasn't possible, but she didn't even know who her potential roomy was, so why not have fun?She hardly noticed the two figures nearby.
Ranma scowled. Akane was totally ignoring him, but he acted as if it didn't matter, despite how annoyed he was at the fact that she always got way too chummy with some guys -- and thee guys happened to all want her. The heck!He was about to speak up when a curvacious hip smacked against his face, and he looked up, to see Shampoo. Oh, damnit. "Oh, uh.. Hey, Shampoo." No, no, no! Why didn't the ceremonies start right now?! "Uh, no, I'm in the boys' dorms.." he paused, noticing his wonderful oppurtunity to piss Akane off, before grinning. "It's good to see that you got invited, Shampoo." Okay, so this was a death with. A complete and total deathwish. If he didn't die by being drowned in Shampoo's nutso affection, he was gonna be beaten to a pup by Akane. But for the moment, it was worth it; just to see Akane angry.
Shampoo paid no attention to anybody else around her; not even to the fact that Ranma had his mind elsewhere. She grasped onto his head and shoved him into her chest, barely hiding her huge smile."Oh, but Ranma want be roomie with Shampoo anyway!" She giggled. ((OOC: now in response to Kaidou!)) Looking up, she heard the music playing and the Assistant Principal with a long, undaunting speech. This must have meant the ceremonies had started! Grabbing Ranma's hand, she pushed her way quickly through the crowd so she could be in the front-row.As Principal Kaidou's schpiel drew to a close, Shampoo began to look around for a sign of someone else she knew, but her eyes skipped directly over some and straight to a lost-looking boy with stupid glasses. ...stupid glasses? Her face dimmed as she pulled herself closer to her fiancee."Oh no...why Mousse get accepted here?"
"'Cause he's not a half-bad fighter," Ranma said, edging away from Shampoo, "uh, Oh crap! I gotta go find my room my dorm mate must be pissed at me! See ya later Shampoo!" He hopped up, looking to Akane and Shinnosuke and scowling, before taking off out of the auditorium. "Okay, 107B.. if I keep goin' at this speed, those looneys'll never catch up with me!" Because, to hell if he was gonna let any of them find out where his room was. If they did.. they'd be at his door every day. And well, that wasn't something Ranma wanted to deal with at the moment.
Glasses were pushed up his nose as he entered the building, a napsack still hanging over one shoulder. This should prove to be an interesting experience...and Shampoo would be there. No sooner did the blind martial artist enter than he began manuvering the crowd, searching for the purple haired Amazon, prepared to give her a loving embrace and perhaps a present. ...There were too many people here. Mousse scowled to himself, pausing for a moment.
As the band suddenly started up, Pricipal Kaidou watched from the sidelines, smiling. She looked to his faculty, then sighed. The ceremonies began; performances by upperclassmen beginning, ranging from the dance team, the drama club's quick musical that combined with the orchestra, and the kendo club's demonstration. Clapping, he waited until the new Assistant Principal, Mr. Kuno, excitedly announced him in his.. odd way. Standing, Principal Kaidoi waved, then walked to the podium and sighed. "A new year, with brand new students and talent that I've never thought I'd see is about to begin. I'm very glad that our former students have returned, and that new faces are everywhere." The kind old man gave a proud smile. "I hope that our new arrivals will enjoy our currculum and everything this school has to offer. It is my dream that the greatest fightrs in the world walk out of this academy and achieve every dream you've ever wanted to live, after building your life here. Each and every one of you is a talented individual.." He read from the speech he had written, congrtulating them all, and going on; delivering a speech full of hope, pride, and compassion. This was his beautiful act; the act he would hold until the end of the year. "Your final exams will be here, in this stadium. You will all be given the chance to display your skill. Perform your best, because everything you learn during the year can and most likely will apply in this ring. If you need any details, please don't hesitate to ask the members of our faculty, or come straight to me." He bowed, then stood up, smiling proudly, "Please, enjoy your first day here. Classes begin tommorow, so please explore the campus as you like, and good luck in locating all of your dorms. You are dismissed."He stood, nodding his head as applause rang, until he bowed once more and left the podium.
